What We Treat as Urgent
Heat is the obvious reason but it is not the only one. Water finding its way into a structure does damage by the hour, and anything that smells electrical is a fire risk rather than a comfort problem.
There is also a category particular to this area. Wellington fills with horse people and their staff through the winter season, and a barn office, a groom apartment or a rented house during the festival is somebody's entire operation. Those get treated as urgent because losing cooling there is not merely uncomfortable.
- No cooling in an occupied house while a heat advisory is running
- Anyone in the household for whom an overheated home is a medical risk
- Water coming through a ceiling or wall from an air handler above it
- Any smell of burning, visible scorching, or a breaker tripping on reset
- A short-term let or seasonal rental with people already in it
- A system frozen solid, which cannot be safely left running
Before You Book Anything
A reasonable share of urgent calls turn out to be something you can put right yourself in a few minutes, and we will happily talk you through the checks rather than charging you to watch.
Look at the breaker panel and the disconnect box outside. Pull the filter and look at it against the light. Check whether the float switch in the drain pan has tripped. Confirm the thermostat has power and working batteries. How the Rate Works
You are told the callout figure before anybody is dispatched, including the out-of-hours rate if it applies, and it is the figure that appears on the invoice. There is no separate emergency surcharge revealed at the end.
Bookings run seven days a week including evenings. Genuinely overnight work is arranged case by case rather than promised on a website — a technician who has been awake since five is not who you want making judgements about your electrical connections at two in the morning.
Getting the House Comfortable Again
Once the system is running, a house that has been sitting closed at ninety degrees takes several hours to recover, because the structure has stored heat and the indoor air is heavy with moisture. Both have to be pulled back out.
Do not drop the thermostat to sixty-five to speed it up. It does not work, and it can freeze the coil on a system that is already struggling. Set it where you want it, leave the fan on auto, and let the equipment do the job in the order it is designed to.

- How quickly can somebody actually get here?
- Within the core area — Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee, Greenacres — same-day is normal for calls placed in the morning and common for afternoon ones. You will be given a realistic window on the phone rather than an optimistic one.
- Is there an extra charge in the evening?
- There is an out-of-hours rate outside normal weekday hours, and you are told what it is before a technician is dispatched. If the fault can safely wait until morning we will say so, and that saves you the difference.
- Can you fix it that night or only make it safe?
- Most faults are repaired on the visit, because the common failures are stocked on the van. Where the part is unusual we will get the system safe and running temporarily if that can be done properly, and tell you plainly when it cannot.
